We are looking for Junior Developers to join our LiveOps team, belonging to Futurice’s Managed Services business unit – among friends, we call it FutuCare! This is a great opportunity to start your career in tech consultancy.
About the role
As a Junior Software Developer in the LiveOps team, your responsibilities vary between clients, as usually a team member has a few clients to work with. The role combines software development and customer service, as well as continuous improvement in the client environments to provide the best possible value to our clients.
To summarize, your responsibilities as a Junior Developer may include:
- Continuous development of in-production systems and software
- Providing service to our clients and answering their questions and needs, whether it’s incident management or service requests
- Monitoring clients’ environments and ensuring their production, including handling monitoring alerts by priority
- Working with logs, reporting, information security, testing, or run books
- Developing and improving ways of working, such as monitoring and automation, together with the entire LiveOps team
- Occasionally participating in evening or weekend on-call work (on a volunteer or standby basis)
- Taking part in other development projects as needed
This role requires a readiness to work on a 24/7 basis and flexibility with working hours, including outside of normal business hours. For work performed outside of normal business hours, separate compensation is paid on top of your monthly salary.
Recipe for success
To thrive in this role, you already have some technical skills in software development in your pocket. As our client projects have a lot of technical variety, we do not have a strict expectation on your stack. We expect you to have some knowledge of both backend and frontend, and in addition, it’s an advantage if you have experience in some of these:
- Languages: Typescript / Python / Kotlin / C#
- Cloud: AWS / Azure / GCP
- Web: Spring Boot / Next.js / React / Chalice / Purify
- Storage: PostgreSQL / DynamoDB
- SaaS Services: Microsoft Power Apps / Dynamics 365 / Monitoring solutions
We don't expect you to be an expert in all the listed areas, or even close to it. The most important thing is a genuine desire to learn and grow, as long as you have a solid foundation to build on.
In this role, fluent Finnish is a requirement, as communication with our clients is key. We value top-class customer service, so we hope you have excellent communication skills.
We're looking for a person who combines a developer-centric mindset with a service-oriented attitude. You will work both in groups and individually, so strong teamwork and self-leadership skills are something we highly value.
Our team
FutuCare Managed Services ensures continuity, support, and small feature development of in-production systems and platforms – most of those are developed by us at Futurice. We provide high-quality continuous & managed services to our clients and development teams, far above and beyond traditional reactive maintenance. We continuously find ways to increase value creation, improve automation, and reduce manual work.
FutuCare consists of two functional areas: the DevOps team, looking after application continuous development, and LiveOps, which combines Service Desk, operations, and platforms. Your possible future team, LiveOps, serves clients and development teams by looking after their services, creating a smooth developer experience, and ensuring rapid client communication. It also improves automation and provides monitoring and reporting of systems.

Compensation
Your complete compensation package will be discussed in detail during the recruitment process. Our salary model is designed to offer a range of levels based on three factors: skills, responsibilities and impact. We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment where every employee has the opportunity to thrive and advance in their career and become better versions of themselves.
During the initial interview round, we will discuss the salary range for this position. We offer a fixed salary with the possibility of performance-based bonuses and additional benefits. For this Junior LiveOps Developer role in FutuCare, the on-target compensation varies between 2730–3370 € on a monthly basis depending on the career level.
