The role is based in either Helsinki or Tampere, with flexible hybrid working options available.

About the role

As a Frontend Developer with accessibility expertise at Futurice, you will:

• Develop modern, user-centric web applications and digital services in close collaboration with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

• Ensure accessibility is an integral part of our projects by applying best practices (e.g. WCAG 2.1/2.2) throughout the design and development process.

• Conduct accessibility audits and evaluations, and help translate findings into actionable improvements.

• Advocate for accessibility both internally and in client projects, supporting teams in issue remediation and continuous competence development.

• Lead or participate in trainings and workshops, sharing your accessibility knowledge with clients and colleagues.

• Support accessibility-related sales efforts by bringing your expertise into client discussions.

• Work in agile, cross-functional teams, contributing to both technical implementation and the overall accessibility strategy of our solutions.

What helps you succeed:

• Has 3+ years of hands-on front-end development experience (React, Vue, Angular or similar modern frameworks).

• Has a solid understanding of web accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG 2.1/2.2), ARIA, and assistive technologies.

• Has experience conducting accessibility audits and implementing accessible solutions in practice.

• Is comfortable advising and educating others on accessibility, both in person and through documentation.

• Can translate accessibility requirements into practical, elegant front-end code and design solutions.

• Enjoys working in agile, cross-functional teams and collaborating with designers, developers, and clients.

• Communicates fluently in Finnish and English. Other language skills (e.g. Swedish) are a plus.

Additional Nice-to-Haves:

• IAAP certifications (CPACC, WAS, or similar)

• Experience with usability testing

• Skills in UI/UX or service design

Compensation

Your complete compensation package will be discussed in detail during the recruitment process. Our salary model is designed to offer a range of levels based on three factors: skills, responsibilities and impact. We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment where every employee has the opportunity to thrive and advance in their career and become better versions of themselves.

During the initial interview round, we will discuss the salary range for this position. We offer a fixed salary with the possibility of performance-based bonuses and additional benefits.
