About the role

Join our Nordic Public & Security team as a Business Director and help clients transform their businesses through digital, data, and AI. We are looking for a strategic thinker who loves the thrill of new business development, values an execution-oriented mindset, and brings a modern understanding of technology over decades of corporate hierarchy.

In this role, your primary playground will be the defence and national security sectors, where you will scale our footprint and open new doors. Alongside this, you are genuinely motivated to drive impact across the wider Nordic public sector such as ministries, central government agencies and cities. You will drive a portfolio of both new target prospects and established accounts. You see the broader public domain as a critical platform where modern data and AI solutions can solve major societal challenges and build a more resilient society.

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across Futurice, success means expanding our client base and strengthening strategic relationships while cultivating a strong, collaborative team culture—because at Futurice, we value achieving goals together over individual contributions.

These skills and experiences will give you good grounds for success:

• Proven success in business development and account management within the Nordic technology and digital consulting sector.

• An existing network and experience within the defence and security sectors combined with a genuine motivation to expand this expertise into the wider Nordic sector.

• Deep insights and an existing network within the Finnish public sector, including a strong grasp of complex procurement and public tenders.

• A genuine passion for expanding a portfolio by opening doors at entirely new clients.

• The ability to navigate complex sales, lead high-stakes negotiations, and articulate how data, AI, and digital transformation solve the sector's unique challenges.

• A systematic, self-driven approach with the resilience to navigate ambiguity.

• Eligibility for a standard Finnish security clearance (Suojelupoliisin perusmuotoinen turvallisuusselvitys), which requires a clean background and a verifiable residency history.

• Fluency in business English and Finnish. Swedish is a strong plus as we scale across the Nordics.

The position is permanent and full-time, and can be based in either Helsinki or Tampere. We work flexibly in a hybrid model, but the role requires regular presence at your home office location as well as some travel in the future within the Nordics.

Compensation

Your complete compensation package will be discussed in detail during the recruitment process. Our salary model is designed to offer a range of levels based on three factors: skills, responsibilities and impact. We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment where every employee has the opportunity to thrive and advance in their career and become better versions of themselves.

During the initial interview round, we will discuss the salary range for this position. We offer a fixed salary with the possibility of performance-based bonuses and additional benefits. For this Business Director role, the on-target compensation varies on a monthly basis depending on the career level.
